Top 10 Ways to Simplify Your LIfe

1. PRACTICE SAYING NO: Say yes only to things you really want to do. Consider delegating or eliminating the things you don't want to do.

2. CONSIDER THE MONEY/MINUTES RATIO: Even during these economic times, it is sometimes worth the expense to save yourself time. Running to 3 different stores to save a few bucks, but costing you extra hours is probably not worth it in the long run. Consider hiring out chores that cost you the most time. You may be missing out on the extra time you would have to generate more income, or develop those relationships.

3. TURN OFF THE TELEVISION: Only turn it on for the specific shows you want to watch. You'll be amazed at what other things will occupy your time, and you'll feel so much better. Author Stephen Covey suggests one hour of TV a day for kids, or seven hours per week. In his family, they discuss what they want to watch each week and usually watch sports or a movie on the weekend and hardly any on week nights.

4. DECLUTTER: Clean out the den, the closet or whatever space brings disarray in your sight the most. When we see chaos regularly, we are reinforcing chaos in our lives.

5. AUTOMATE WHATEVER YOU CAN: Set up automatic bill paying, automatic doctors appointments, automatic savings plans, automatic card services.

6. ELIMINATE ENERGY VAMPIRES: Stop spending time with people who drain you of energy. You are not obligated to help them. Keeping you well and healthy is your first priority and they are not contributing to that goal.

7. PICK YOUR ORGANIZATIONS WISELY: Resign from groups or organizations that don't uplift, develop, advance or enhance your life.

8. MAKE TIME FOR YOURSELF: This should be your top priority. When you are your best self, you can be more giving to others. Whether it is 5 minutes or 2 hours, meditating or playing tennis, take what you need to keep yourself well.

9. CUT BACK ON THE KIDS: Don't over-schedule yourself or your kids. You all need down time with no planned activities.

10. BE GRATEFUL: Take just a few moments each day to be grateful for everything. It's a great way to start and end your day.
