Useful sites for Job Seekers wanting to become Irreplaceable Talents

During a radio interview today, I spoke about many tips and websites which can be helpful in defining your personal 'blueprint' in the current job environment. Here they are:

1. Just sending out resumes blind is "old school". You have to find a way to STAND OUT. Some examples that I have seen include a video or picture within the resume, a clear personal branding statement within the resume, dramatic and intense networking (a resume passed on from a colleague automatically has more credibility) and a list of personal strengths highlighted in a resume.

2. Open Sesame Access: Classes to partner with workers (employed or not) in creating their own ACCESS "blueprint" and becoming an irreplaceable talent, (find out what your 'worker fingerprint' looks like and use it to obtain the position you really, really want and enjoy). Free intro classes are found here.

3. Elements of being Irreplaceable:

~ Always look for the opportunity in every problem. Look for the learnings.

~ Know your strengths! Use Strengthfinder 2.0 (available in bookstores and amazon.com)

~ Understand your motivators and how you interact with others and why. Obtain your personal PRINT assessment. Contact me if interested.

~ Maintain an Awareness, Abundance and Adaptability mentality.

~ Do you know what your own personal BRAND looks like? How other perceive you? What do you put out there? You can obtain free 360 feedback at 360°Reach.

~ Network, network, network!!

4. A Hand Up Coaching is a non-profit coaching organization helping those in tough financial situations by providing a personal coach to qualified individuals for a period of time. AHUC is currently looking for sponsors, volunteer coaches and partners (e.g. Habitat for Humanity, Dress for Success, organizations where coaching clients would be identified). The website is undergoing some updating but contact information can be found there.

A little more on coaching: obtaining a personal coach is an investment in yourself, and if you are a business owner or manager, it's also an investment in the business. Coaching is a catalyst for action and progress. It is a process which de-clutters and provides extreme focus for the coachee in order to have clarity in their path forward.
