What's your maintenance program?

When did you last change the oil in your car? Had a flush and fill? Have it washed, waxed or got "The Works" at the carwash? Did you add the tire shine treatment to really give it that extra spark?

You may be surprised to know that I take my car maintenance very seriously and that I have previously changed my own oil with my own two hands.  When I bought my first car, I was determined to take full responsibility for everything that had to do with car ownership.  My mother was so impressed she came out and took pictures of me, oil pan, dirty track suit (I think that's what we called them then) and all.  We all know we need a maintenance program to keep our cars running well, because most of us use our cars every day.

Over the weekend I took my LifeAction Coaching booth to the Winslow Wellness Center right outside of Indianapolis for their Halloween Bash, where they offered different facial treatments and procedures, jewelry and handbags, etc.  After seeing the steady stream of women and yes, some men too, it was apparent that their visits were part of a maintenance program too.  Just like those of us that color our hair, or cut it routinely, we all choose different maintenance programs to keep us looking well.

I started thinking about all of the maintenance programs that we have, and how we sometimes slack off on the upkeep.  We tend to take better care of our cars than a lot of things related to our lives.  How about:

Body Maintenance
Health Maintenance
Spiritual Maintenance
Mental Maintenance
Intellectual Maintenance
Financial Maintenance
Career Maintenance
Relationship Maintenance

Think about which one of yours needs a 'lift' now and what do you need to do to get it back in it's best shape?  Let's not wait for the end of the year and the New Year's Resolution.  Let's get started right now and raise the bar on your maintenance programs.
